And so a touch of rain
A touch of rain might be a good thing, but for a whole week? However, there is a of bit Sun in the Horizon!!Yes to all your inquires- it’s raining again!! Today our wonderful home away from home, Holland American Lines, MS Veendam has docked in the beautiful port of Quebec, Canada. Wondrous vistas surround. It is a beautiful city and as par for the course it is raining!!! Arg!!! As I have reported since day one, clouds, ultra thick fog, and our shipmate the rain has determinately followed us here since Bar Harbor, Maine. However, I thank the crew of the MS Veendam for providing me and our entire fellow passengers much needed sunshine.
Bon Jour, good morning, hello, Gutten Morgen- the ever cheerful staff and crew are “one of a kind” in making a humdrum day a sunshine filled Day!! For the next few days and evenings – my calendar is heavily scheduled. Besides all the exciting shipboard events and entertainment, a few “extras” are being prepared for our viewing audience at home. Executive Chef Allen will be preparing a wondrous Great Chefs, “Cuisine at Sea” television special on board the MS Veendam as he serves up a decadent breakfast . Chef Allen will serve up a seafood omelet, poached eggs and a delicious flan. This very afternoon we will be joining the Master of the Ship, Christopher J. Norman,
as he provides insight on his life at sea and his thoughts of those who dream of exploring the world by ship. A very special event will take place in a few days when the MS Veendam’s florist will turn the world on with a most colorful and vibrant smile when he prepares several floral bouquets and center pieces – yes, pics and video are on the way to you as well!!
And of course, each day has been a culinary adventure in itself. Chef Allen and Culinary Operations Manager, Ruben Kooiman, have made sure that each meal has been a masterpiece of flavor and color!!! Thank you both!!!! Now let’s take a look at some of the sights and scenes of our time in Quebec- Bon Jour!!
