True love begins the Holiday Season at Pasticceria Italia Bakery

On the Twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, platters filled with Italian Pastries – cookies, whipped cream cakes and three dozen freshly made cannolis! 

Yes indeed, it’s holiday time and that can only mean that “the” most famous baker in Connecticut, the one and only  Emiddio Botta of the world famous Pasticceria Italia Bakery, situated at 10 Wintonbury Mall in the beautiful hamlet of Bloomfield, and his staff of busy bakers are crafting around the clock, mouth watering treats for the upcoming holiday season.

According to Chef Emiddio Botta, owner of Passticceria Italia, “Christmas is only a few weeks away, and we have already started taking orders for platters of cannolis, Italian cookie trays, cakes, pies, breads and all our holiday specialty items like Yule Logs and Cassata cake – a traditional layered holiday treat consisting of sweet liqueur layered cake, cannoli cream, candied cherries and topped with a decorative marzipan. Last year we sold over 18 thousand Cannolis,  thousands of cookie trays, and let me tell you – my cookie ovens and my staff are working non-stop, once again we are heading for a record breaking holiday season!”

Mrs. Lillian Greene of Holyoke, Massachusetts remarks, “I have relatives here in Bloomfield, so I’m constantly in this beautiful town, and I must tell you, during the holidays this is the one gift my friends truly want. All I have to do is mention that I’m heading to Bloomfield, and before I know it I have a long list from them with requests for the bakery’s freshly made cannolis and that wonderful tiramisu that they make here. Today I’m ordering several pies, a large platter of Italian cookies and of course cannolis for a holiday party”. Mrs Greene continues, “I hope folks truly take note of this wonderful bakery, there are not that many like this around anymore, delicious baked goods, wonderful dedicated staff and of course Chef Emiddio Botta – he is Christmas to me all year long”!

Even on this early December, dedicated dessert denizens are eagerly lined up outside the bakery, while staff man ever  ringing phones, taking holiday baked good orders. Emiddio additionally mentions, “I have a tremendous baking staff, they arrive at the bakery at 5 am, and off they go, turning out besides our freshly made Christmas Cannolis –  plain, chocolate chip, and chocolate dipped, but also so many freshly made pies, breads, cakes and cookies and so much more- it’s really like Santa’s workshop back there”.

The pastry shop’s glass showcases are brimming with such freshly made baked goods, including, Whip Cream Cakes, Ricotta Cakes, Chocolate Mousse Cakes,Tiramisu Cakes, German Chocolate Cakes, Napoleon Cakes, Rum Cakes, Cappuccino Cakes, Strawberry Cheese Cakes-, and pies galore- Apple, Chocolate and Banana Cream, Pecan, Yam and Sweet Potato Pie, and there is so much more- and we have not even started on the myriad of Italian cookies, home made soups and sandwiches.
